The Vétéran of the Light UFC Rafael Fiziev is considering a drop to 145 pounds after his last defeat.
FIZIEV (12-4 MMA, 6-4 UFC) lost a unanimous decision against Justin Gaethje (26-5 MMA, 9-5 UFC) Saturday at UFC 313 in Las Vegas. It was a fight, he took a short term, and the one who made him realize that he could be better in a weight class below.
“I am thinking right now to change weight divisions,” said Fiziev Ariel Helwani. “I start to think about changing the weight divisions because I really cut the very easy weight this time and it was a short notice. It was very easy. All this week, my nutritionist Jason, he tried to gain my weight because my weight becomes so weak so quickly. Right now, I have to think about it. »»
Fiziev says that it is very “possible” that the change can happen as soon as its next fight. He has not yet made the decision officially, but he felt undersized while fighting Gaethje.
If it falls, Azerbaijani thinks it will do fairly well in the featherweight division, and it would be challenging the best suitors.
“I want to fight with the best guys, some of the best guys,” said Fiziev. “All these guys in the top 10 are interesting. These guys are in trouble if I come here. They will be in trouble. Everyone.”
