Does the rank a little high, especially compared with some teams with better records? Perhaps, but the pistons facilitated while their competition was struggling. I can’t believe I say this, but the pistons are in the quantity of an interesting divisional race for the fourth seed.
Milwaukee, Indiana, and Detroit are in their own tier in the east, well behind New York for third seeds but ahead of Miami / Orlando duo fighting the seventh. Only one game that separates four from six.
the Three teams also despise each other, that should make for some great playoff theaters between any two squads that end when he sows fourth and fifth. Mmm … playoff-grade meat! Delicious.
For Detroit, which has completed 13th or worse at conference for the last five seasons, the earnest advantage of the Homecourt has nothing to do with a miracle. 9-1 9-1 in their last 10 games and play like a team ready to win a series.
Increase drama, Detroit ends their periods of two games against Milwaukee. Those matches can determine who’s getting the home-court advantage at the cost of their immediate playoff foe. It’s fun!
