The candidate for the UFC, Megan Anderson, could hand over the gloves, but not for an MMA fight.
Anderson moved away from sport after losing against Queen Amanda Nunes to two divisions in March 2021, the last time that the featherweight of the UFC was put into play and never looked back. Always involved in sport, working as a commentator in the broadcast of FC Invicta, Anderson told MMA Fighting that there was an avenue that she would plan to go for a return to combat sports.
“I don’t want to fight anymore,” said Anderson. “I don’t even think I could do 145 pounds – I really do it, I lack weight. Maybe like an influencer boxing or something like that. Who knows, because I have just started boxing again as for fun with my coach, so maybe-but it’s more like a 20% perhaps. “”
Anderson has accumulated a professional record of 10-5 with six direct elimination victories between 2013 and 2021, including a stop on Norma Dumont in the UFC and a kick kick against the tweet of Charmaine to claim the Invicta Fcweight Gold interval. At 35, she would just look for moments of pleasure in the square circle.
“I would never make professional boxing,” said Anderson. “It would certainly be like a boxing of influence, just something that is fun. Nothing too serious. I am not trying to be eliminated (laughs), I do not try to fight Claressed Shields. I’m fine, thank you (laughs). I mean, if the price is good, you never know. But at this point, I like what I do, I like this side of things. You never know. You never say.
For the moment, Anderson is happy to be part of the Invicta FC family as a commentator and to look at the next generation of the sport develop.
“I love what I’m doing now,” said Anderson. “I did everything I wanted to accomplish in the sport of mixed martial arts. Obviously, I have not finished the way I wanted, but being able to go to broadcasting, I think I am so satisfactory for me because I am always able to get involved in sport. I am able to talk about the sport I love, which gave me so much. And I like to have this opportunity to get involved and to be such an important part of Invicta and their team of comments because I would not be where I am without Shannon (Knapp) and invited. So, to be able to restore and highlight these women and give them a platform and help build their careers, by building them on the dissemination in one way or another, I think it is so fulfilling.
“I love that I can do this, and I am so grateful that I am in the position that I am able to continue to do this. Being around him and seeing all these young athletes pass through makes me feel really old, honestly (laughs). I feel old. But I love to watch them pass, seeing where their careers go. I feel like a proud older sister. I can watch them pass, give them advice. If someone reaches out by wanting advice, I’m still there. I am happy to help them in any way. This is more than what I can ask.
