It was not the plan, but Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev will compete in a revenge match. Their light fight planned for three laps will take place on Saturday March 8 at UFC 313 from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The fight met last week after Gaethje’s original opponent, Dan Hooker, underwent a fractured hand in training.
Gaethje (25-5 MMA, 8-5 UFC) and FIZIEV (12-3 MMA, 6-3 UFC) met for the first time in March 2023 at UFC 286, Gaethje winning a majority decision harshly disputed in the night fight.
Since then, Gaethje went 1-1, first eliminating Dustin Poirier and recently suffered the KO of the year at Max Hollway last April at the UFC 300. Fiziev followed his defeat against Gaethje with a second consecutive injury TKO in Mateusz Gamrot in September 2023, and he has not contributed since.
When does the UFC 313 combat card begins?
