The next UFC Seattle card took another hit with Edson Barboza eliminated from his fight against Steve Garcia on February 22.
Several sources have confirmed that the news of MMA fights with Barboza being forced to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.
The return of the UFC to Seattle was tainted by the cancellations recently, which includes the loss of the former Coq weight champion Dominick Cruz, who announced his retirement from the competition, leaving the planned opponent Rob do without a partner of dance.
Meanwhile, the heavyweight struggle between Curtis Blaydes and Rizvan Kuniev, which was also planned as a main card fight, should move on to the à la carte payment of the UFC 313 on March 8.
There is not yet a word if Garcia will remain on the UFC Seattle card against a new opponent or not. This is a disappointing news for Garcia, who was looking for a chance of potentially winning a place in the top 15 in the featherweight ranking after having taken five consecutive victories in the division with all its victories ending with KO in the first or second round.
The main event of the UFC Seattle presents the return of the former champion to two division Henry Cejudo while he faces Song Yadong in an intriguing rooster match.
From now on, the UFC has not revealed final plans for the UFC Seattle card or the order of combat for the event.
