The full -bodied weights Cory Sandhant and Fig Desondo should compete during the main event of the next UFC card of the monks on May 3, which marks the return of promotion to Iowa for the first time in 25 years.
Several people knowing the promotion plans confirmed the new MMA fighting on Thursday. The fight was initially reported by Leonardo Guimarães on social networks.
The fight served as the first appearance of sandhant since he made a decision in Umarmagomedov last August, which ended his sequence of victories of three fights. Before this setback, Sandhant had struck the victories on Rob Font, Chito Vera and Song Yadong.
Now, he will try to get back on the right track while facing Figueiredo, who also tasted defeat during his last appearance in the UFC when he fell against the former Coqs Champion Petr Yan last November.
Figueiredo had been in tears at rooster weights before this fight with three consecutive victories, including victories on Vera and former champion Cody Garbrandt.
Sandhant VS Figueiredo should make the headlines on the UFC card to monks while the organization returns to an old trampling field for promotion after Iowa has served as a reproductive ground for some of the best fighters in the world.
The last time the UFC landed there for an event, it was back in 2000 for the UFC 26 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where Kevin Randleman faced Pedro Rizzo in the main event.
