Chris Eubank Jr.

Chris Eubank Jr. paid a high price for his little pleasure with Conor Benn.

Last month, during the first press conference for his next boxing match, Eubank caused a sensation when he slapped Benn with an egg during their confrontation.

Unfortunately for Eubank, the British Boxing Boxing Board of Control (BBBOC) did not look with its action well and Tuesday, the director organ sentenced to a fine of £ 100,000 Eubank (around $ 129,000) for its explosion.

“Following a hearing before the delegates of the British Boxing Board of Control, Chris Eubank Jr. turned out to be in violation of Regulation 25 (misconduct) for his conference at the press conference in Manchester for the Chris Eubank Jr competition against Conor Benn on April 26, 2025”, the BBBOC BBBOC said in a press release.

“As such, prisoners of the board of directors inflicted a fine on Chris Eubank Jr the sum of £ 100,000.”

Eubank and Benn are both second generation boxers, whose fathers had a memorable rivalry in the early 90s.

Eubank and Benn were originally to compete in 2022, but the fight was canceled after Benn was tested positive for the cliphene – a prohibited substance that can increase testosterone levels in men – a few days before the event.

Benn finally erased his name and had his suspension raised, but during the process, also said that eating too many eggs had led to his positive screening test. Eubank obviously took note and that is why he chose to slap Benn with the egg during the press conference.

“I throwing an egg on someone who claims that this is the reason why he failed two drug tests, because of the contaminated eggs, I think it’s light. And I think it’s deserved, “said Eubank later about his actions.

“He was worthy of what happened. If I had the opportunity to start again, I would.

Eubank and Benn should compete on April 26 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
