Paddy Pimbelett thinks that “idiot” Dustin Poirier retires prematurely

Paddy Pimbett is confused by Dustin Poirier’s decision to retire.

Poirier predicts one more fight this summer in its original state, Louisiana before hanging up its gloves. He has already been asked about Pimbett as a potential adversary, but said that he only targeted legends.

Pimbett (22-3 MMA, 6-0 UFC), who meets Michael Chandler in the co-printing event of the UFC 314 on April 12 in Miami (ESPN + Pay-Per-View, ESPN / Disney +, ESPN +), thinks that Poirier (30-8 MMA, 22-7 UFC) still has a lot of combat in him.

“He said something about me the other day, right?” To say that these are only legends and he thinks that Chandler will beat me, “said Pimbett ESPN Sports. “I think he should have more than one fight (before retiring). He looked good in his last fight. I do not understand why you will retire when you look good, but you know, he must be an idiot. I think I beat Dustin Poirier so I would like to fight it.

Chandler (23-9 MMA, 2-4 UFC) has just made a unanimous loss of decision against Charles Oliveira at UFC 309 last November. The victory put Oliveira back in the title race, then Pimbett hopes that beating Chandler can do the same for him.

“Charles, he just beat Chandler,” said Pimbett. “If Charles gets a title shot by beating Chandler, I want a title shot when I beat Chandler.”
