Jalin Turner surprised her gloves with surprise after losing the UFC 313.
Turner (14-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) was submitted by Ignacio Bahamondes (17-5 MMA, 6-2 UFC) on the Light Main Light Map of Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The defeat marked the fourth of Turner in his last five outings. An emotional turner explained why he decided to retire, despite only 29 years.
“I had already entertained this thought, retiring after the UFC 300,” said Turner in an interview with Sports time. “(I) took a little free time, you know – I continued to train, just trying to understand, focusing like my mental health. It’s difficult, guy – the fights are difficult. I have been doing it for 12 years, and you have to be completely in or not. And even being in there now, I was not entirely just like I thought. The decision to stay or not was honestly based on this fight for me. I felt like I would get the head sign, would get the victory.
“I watched it. This is a promising perspective. He deserved the opportunity, and I felt like I was getting hands and I didn’t do it. It’s emotional right now, but I have been thinking about it for 11 months if I will continue to fight or not. I was fighting to sign the combat contract because I did not know if I retired or not, I did not know how long I wanted to continue doing this. My children age. I don’t want to continue to undergo damage. The training camps are difficult. Life has really wreaked havoc in the past 11 months, so (I) need to move away a little, maybe forever. “”
Throughout his UFC career, Turner was able to enter the top 15 light rankings of the UFC by marking finishes on Jamie Mullarkey, Brad Riddell and King Green.
